Version 0.5 – Feature report

Screenshot of Applicability Module

A new version, a new approach.

Version 0.5 bring with it a revamp on the key modules of ReguLore. How firms record which rules and guidance apply to them has been re-assessed, how these applicable rules are then linked to controls and the management of the controls has also been changed. Finally, there has been a massive overhaul of the UI on the app and on the website.

Applicability

The way firms confirm the rules which apply to them has seen an overhaul. Going forward, firms fill out a questionnaire on their business type and setup, these initial questions are a gateway to establish the intricacies of their business. The output being the CASS chapters, rules and guidance which apply to the firm. Users can then add comments on all rules to explain either why the rule is applicable or not.

Once complete, ReguLore automatically creates a control which links the applicability of rules, to the questionnaire. Any re-assessment is seen as a review and changes are logged overtime via the control. This establishes the Applicability module as a control itself and reduces duplication of work.

Controls

Once the applicability has been created, controls have also seen a refresh. They now are focused on the direct link from controls to rules. Users create controls and manage them via a hub. Each control is given a rating (derived from the Adequacy and Effectiveness rating) and space for evidence of the control to be uploaded. Any review is also logged against the control.

A new part of the Control module is the Applicable Rules, this section gives clear indication as to which rules do not have controls linked to them. This is to further clarity on any gaps in the system.

UI

The third major section which had a revamp is the UI of the app. Now all navigation is managed by a collapsible sidebar and sub menus to easily navigate to the specific area required.

On initial load, users are greeted with an overview of the four key modules which would be needed on a day to day basis – Breach management, Controls, Change Management and Monitoring.

This change in approach makes it easier to navigate on a practical level.

Looking forward

The next change on the horizon will look at the implementation of the Resolution Pack to ReguLore. Following in line with the CASS 10 requirements and minimising the amount of work and time put into complying by firms.

Thanks, Andy
